Adult Only Hotels.

Asking for a friend who asked me (honestly). He and his bf have been asked to join with others for a week's holiday later this year in an adult only hotel in Tunisia. Says it seems fine on their website but wonders is it a night and day orgy place as it is adult only and that is simply not their cup of tea.
I couldn't help him, can anyone here ?

It would be hilarious if you booked a holiday in an " adults only " hotel only to discover it only meant no kids ....

That is hilarious! An orgy hotel in Tunisia? I think not! Tunisia is a very conservative country. Such a thing would not be tolerated.

Adult only hotels are for people who do not want to be surrounded by screaming kids running all over the place on their holidays. They are a growing market. I've seen a few advertised on tv. If in doubt, check the reviews on hotel websites such as booking.com or tripadvisor.

There are adult only hotels everywhere now , even in package holidays they have hotels where they have adult only zones - no kids .

And Tunisia isn't great hotel food , it's turkey 7 days a week ( they've a lot of turkey farms like most countries in the region)

Tell them to book a gay cruise , some of them are just orgies on water

Adult only hotels like Sugartits opined are just places where people can stay and chill out without noisy screaming children ruining their peace. I've stayed in a couple and they're great - and I would stay in them again. Some are clothing optional in and around the pool area which is even better.

If you're looking for a place with a bit of "action" than an exclusively gay, clothing optional resort would be the way to go. Great if you prefer swimming and sunbathing in the complete buff (as I do) but pretty cruisey too.

I'd go to Croatia or Greece, if you like the nudist beach etc and Florida has the porn set type hotels I think you were imagining though maybe not the actors
I know Morocco was a great fun destination but I'm not sure now.

That's exactly what they're looking for, but, like me, had never heard of their existence. They are not ones for the outlandish or attention seeking.

I suppose they have to do a bit of research ?
Most resorts with pools and facilities restrict them and usually corall the kids away from the childless adults so they can have a relaxing holiday and sometimes the whole resort is kid free .

Might be worth telling them that technically same-sex sexual activity is illegal in Tunisia...

Indeed. But as Westerners they would be sort of in a little bubble in their resort. I'd be more concerned about potential terrorist attacks (like the one in 2016) and dodgy food and water.

Personally, I have no real desire to visit an Arab or Middle East country with the possible exceptions of Egypt and Jordan.

Yup- I try not to spend my money in places that I'm not welcome.

I've stayed in Muslim B&B's, hotels in Russia, Morocco, Turkey, Ukraine, Balkan countries and never had a problem.

That said, we've had some confused faces at reception the odd time. "You mean two rooms?" ect but it's always fine. The Moslem family that ran the B&B we stayed in in Sarajevo even gave us a departing present of a Bosnian pipe.
