GAZE 2018

I went to see A Moment in the Reeds this evening. If it comes back and/or your way, do go see it.

Also worth seeing is The Miseducation of Cameron Post .

I was a bit iffy with Mario - more 3 from me than the 5 stars most those I spoke to gave it. A big issue (as evidenced by the row about Paddy Power's empty bus at Brighton Pride the day after GAZE showed the film), but the film lacked any sense of emotional depth.

A Moment In The Reeds looked interesting, the trailer anyway.

Mario was sold out so I didn't get to see it.
I doubt it will get any kind of cinema release here.
Looked generic from the trailers, nothing new or different.

Postcards From London, I hope this gets a wide release.
'An exploration\ recreation of old Soho', was the background that the director spoke about in the Q and A after the screening.
In some ways it isn't a gay movie.

The premise is a group of rent boys take a guy under their wing. He blooms as a raconteur as they charactise themselves as.

It's an interesting charming curiousity.
It stars the effortless Harris Dickinson, he from Beech Rats.

Skip Ideal Home with Steve Coogan and Paul Rudd if it comes your way. (It was the secret film this year.)

Pity I missed this as I had other things on but I hope to see a couple of the films shown at a later stage. Would some of them be available on Netflix?

I expect The Miseducation of Cameron Post will become available again, and possibly in cinemas. (It's on release in the UK this week.)

One of the short films featured in the Irish shorts show was about a gay traveller man
It is a heartfelt piece
