I’ve had my head kicked in by a bunch of Eastern Europeans. Despite the fact that I think the people in question are cunts, I manage not to think of all the other people from the region are a bunch of mugging thugs.

I'd put the bad ones on a few isolated islands off the coast, with their mobile homes/caravans and do a food drop until they cop on to themselves.

You could try island life yourself, tell us how you get on .

What a delight. McEniff and Dolan might rejoice with such a notion – but in light of the thread, I’m not sure if you are just out and out trolling, or if you in any way believe that such a tactic would render any collective positive outcomes at all.

I'm serious, bad travelers behaving badly and off to an island with you. What would you do, put them in a 5 star, give them a merc and PS4 to keep them quiet?

Is this the same way you would envisioning treating problematic or conflictive people from the wider settled community? Hardly a means of resolution.

Probably, as you can see all the other methods are working.

Just probably?

Not sure of the other more orthodox methods and their reviews? Contextually aware outcomes etc.

Clearly a well thought out means of progressing our collective struggles forward.

It's almost like there is a preference to banish people, which would lead to an increase of isolation and other associated difficult aspects, further affirming lesser concepts, then engage and create a mutual way forward.

Who decides who is bad? It’s a concept with no basis in reality ? Crazy Casey wanted to put people in the park you suggest an island ( little Britain is also an island) it has absolutely no relative basis except you are copying crazy Casey’s ...

That's fine, if you don't agree with my solution and what is yours?

It seems to me that many people who rush to defend travellers and accuse the rest of us as bigoted have never really experienced their 'culture' first hand.
Up there in their ivory towers they're quick to condemn the rest of us as racist.

Nah I think you're telling yourself that.

Shavano for 1 knows their culture inside out. I have quite a lot of traveller friends and spent about 2-3 years volunteering with traveller groups. Your assumption is just patronising bullshit.

I am not clear on what people are arguing in term of crime statistics.

Are they saying that the % of criminals is the same?

Or that it is higher (if it is) due to higher poverty/lower educations, in proportions similar to other groups with similar hardships.

What are numbers saying, when fairly weighted?
How do they compare with similar situations in New Zealand, Australia, USonA? (To compare with other indigenous minorities, rather than with immigrating minorities)

I think I judge myself and fellow settled people as much or more as I judge travellers.

So hopefully that makes any travellers reading this feel better.

And I also feel a certain admiration for travellers.

I think there is a strong mistrust between settled people and travellers. Maybe that's a better word than judgment.

One problem as I see it is that there very few travellers working or employed in conventional jobs. I've met one traveller working in McDonald's but he's the only one that I know of who is employed in a job. The strong mistrust stops settled employers from employing travellers. Travellers thus have to make their financial way through life by other means. Sometimes that's drawing the dole, some have businesses. Horse trading, scrap collecting, money lending etc.

The mistrust and the lack of normal employment opportunities are the stem of a lot of the problems travellers face in my opinion.
