Gaire And You.

Might be gone.

My knicker topic I posted (under humour, by the way) was deleted.
I guess that makes it a bad joke.

I'm struggling to find a reason to keep checking this forum to be honest. It just seems full of pointless topics about skirts and knickers and thinly vailed attempts of sex talk as legitimate topic posting.
I only don't want to let it go because it was the first gay forum I ever found, but most of the people I knew from back then don't even post here any more, nor most of the people from the meets that were organized (seemingly regularly) back then.

If the voicing and lampooning of that frustration in an appropriate forum category gets IMMEDIATELY DELETED but the reams and reams of sex topics go, as far as I can see uncurbed, unconsolidated, then, well, they can have Gaire since I am no longer intellectually engaged by anything discussed here, nor humoured, nor entertained, so there is no reason for me to post here other then habit, nostalgia and obviously misplaced comfort and trust.

If you feel there is a glut of TG or sex-related topics your passive-aggressive topic would only add to the problem and frustrate both sides. Better to start (or bump) a topic that you are genuinely interested in participating in.

Also, in forum options you can block sex-related and other categories from showing up that you'd rather not see in new topics but can still click into when you want to.

You're right, a lot of people have moved on and the variety of topics has suffered. I feel the same as you, a lot of what I see is of no interest but lampooning the members who are still posting is not the solution.

I think the problem with the site it's never been updated to work properly on mobile phones.
It's not easy to read and review your posts, before they are posted.

Are all of the posts about transvestism just to push that commercial activity ? They are all new posters with few posts and very quickly advertise a place or products .
The “ sex” threads are the same, a few posts and then the poster is mentioning a place or products .
Or themselves .., the self promoting ones get shutdown very fast, probably because they are so transparent but the other ones .

It’s marketing. Poorly disguised.

Do full members have more maturity than others or are full members better qualified than those who are not, in matters if sex... wake up and smell the coffee you remind me of something a member of a Golf Club would utter...

I've only just recently joined (did some browsing before that) but I say give the people what they want. If the majority of users want to post about sex and knickers and wank fodder I say let them. Why lock the topics and alienate them?

Why allow the more "regular posters" to rule the message boards? If I was to take a shot every time I read "take it to the classifieds" on these boards I'd be dead by now. Out of interest - where do most of the "paid members" come from - the classifieds or the message boards? Greenmanpp, for example, is a basic member (ie. - he doesn't pay for full membership). It would be interesting to know where the big bucks come from.

If I owned the website my focus would be on the classifieds and I'd be less "strict" with the message board section... (unless illegal stuff was being posted obviously).

I don't see why the message boards can't be used for both intellectual discussion / debate and married men in their 40s talking about how much they like to wear panties. It would at least drum up traffic, and increase revenue. Just read what you want to read and ignore what you don't.

I know no one's going to agree with me - but just a random thought.

Do you think bi= married in the closet ?
It doesn't
Recently joined and you've done some browsing before and yet if you took a shot every time you read are it to the message boards exaggerate much to try to make a limp point

Has anyone or does anyone remember meeting me at a GAIRE meet up. It’s the only time I was out in town. Just wondering what people think of me of how I came across.

I don't bother posting in the topics that interest me anymore. Theres always some old liberal bollox wringing their hands in disbelief. A few come out of the woodwork just for that.
It's a pity because some topics could be very interesting and make for a good debate.

I'm with ya.. If a topic doesn't interest you then don't click on it, simples.. Let people say what they feel the need to say.. My mind has been expanded by reading the diverse range of opinions/desires/neurotices on these forums.. and a special thanks goes out to Butters for all the great Music..

I use the filter that Thomas mentioned.
Works like a charm and blocks all the wank fodder threads.
