Yes, the power of media/social media to completely destroy a person is scary

She took her own life. No is saying she was perfect and no one knows what goes on behind closed doors either. She was subject to trial by social media and as a result could only see suicide as the only way out.

I know the point you were making Super. On the back of the Me Too movement and the amount of vilification of Men in the media (Some Justified, some not), what's good for the goose is good for the gander & all that but, this was a Woman who had her entire career & social standing swept out from under her as a result of one moment of madness. Who among us hasn't had a moment of stupid regret, except we don't get our fuck ups sprawled accross social/main stream media for months on end..

But it wasn't a once off moment of madness. Other ex'es of hers have come forward saying she was physically abusive to them too. You cant go around slapping lamps off people and expect no backlash. RIP and all that and what happened was awful that she saw suicide as her only way out.

Very sorry to hear of his news.

As an amateur astronomer myself, Heather Couper was a fantastic astronomy and space science television show host, and helped inspire a generation of youngsters into stargazing and science in the 1980s and 1990s. RIP.

Wow I didn't think she was that age. A great broadcaster whose enthusiasm for her subject was infectious.

I though that his having two children meant that technically he would not qualifies but it turns out removing your genes from the gene pool is all that is required, by death or sterilisation by misadventure...
