Celeb deaths never bother me, but this one certainly does, he and Ralf were such pioneers.

Very sad to hear of Florian Schneider’s passing. I’m a fan of Kraftwerk also and have been since my late teens.

Schneider really was a pioneering figure in electronic music in the 1970s and 80s. Kraftwerk were formed in 1970 in Dusseldorf, Germany and their early work was raw and experimental. Their 1974 album Autobahn was unlike anything else at the time and must have seemed like something from the future.

Kraftwerk’s legacy and influence is seen in so much modern pop music.
