Trump used to accuse Obama of looking to start a war with Iran... to get re-elected, because Obama was weak and ineffective...

He wont be Impeached. GOP will never vote for it. I do believe that Bernie Sanders can beat him though depending on how corrupt the electoral college truly is. (I think only one of the last 5 presidents that won the popular vote won the electoral college as well). Trump & the GOP have started to attack Bernie in the last few days. They are getting worried about him. They even tried to claim he was an antisemite despite half his ancestors being killed in the holocaust.

The electoral college is not corrupt!
It is only a voting system: people elect the electoral college. The electoral college elect the President.

It is close to how it works in the EU: the Irish vote for their MEP, of which they have more proportionally than big states, so that the Irish vote for the EU president of the European Commission is heavier than it’s tiny electoral base! That prevents big countries making all the decisions by themselves without giving small countries an exagerated power.

So if you think the US electoral college system is fucked up, it means that you think Ireland has too much weight in Ireland compared to its size...

By the way, that number 5 is in the wrong context: since 1824, when popular vote was recorded, only 5 presidents were elected by the electiral college without also winning the popular vote. And only the last 4 had all members of the college being themselves elected, so that’s only 4 elections for certain where the popular vote was.

The only recent ones are GW Bush and Trump.

That “electoral college” is not corrupt, as if it was sone kind of institution asking people what they think and then ignoring it.
If anything an outright popular vote would give too much power to big states, which is not what a federation of states is...

They do not say it is a corrupt system, they say it is a bad system, which they do not agree with, mostly because it got Trump elected...

One aeticle mentions the popular vote margin that elected John F. Kennedy in 1960... but that election itself is in question in term of popular vote due to the way Alabama voted: like in 1824 it is not 100% clear what the actual popular vote was, and in some scenarios Nixon won it by a hair...

Are you suggesting that the European Council President should be elected by popular vote too?

Trump won because he won. The result from other metrics are irrelevant unless they determine the end result...
If the rules had been different, for instance all voting taking place on one given day instead of months on end, there is no way to know how it would have turned out based on the news that week.

And that system is what it is because each State has a different voting system, and they would never agree to a federal-level system... which would be lambasted as taking away their freedom and as being too centralized!

If the Senate, acquits Trump and they will. It could backfire, as much as it would for Democrats had they a majority and convicted him.

Even if he had God, representing him and he probably thinks he is untouchable now. They couldn't argue with the evidence, hiring big names is just trying intimidate prosecuting lawyers and even we could beat them with the little evidence they have now.

Well, if a handful of moderate Republicans break rank to allow testimonies, it will be the sign that these people are taking shelter and not trusting their commandeer in chief anymore.

Being impeached did not stop him.
Being acquitted will only bolster his ego and support.
Trump must be delighted with the Democratic cock-ups.
