I don't think we are getting anywhere near the full story from the Chinese authorities. They will be very keen to quell any public disquiet and anxiety after the events in Hong Kong last year.

Stock markets plunging now that China is essentially in lock down and nearly all international; flights to and from China are suspended. Just goes to show how interdependent and truly global the world economy is now.
