Income tax and USC will be owed on annual income at year end (not deducted at source), indeed.
Tax and USC, but not employee PRSI or LPT.

Workers will have to assess their own income and tax liability at year end.
Zero chance of that happening for most people... who never deal with taxes as they are spoon-fed by their employer and the State.

I'm getting a bit complacent thinking I won't catch it. Will have to up my game. Consciously think about it.

Where it he R0-rate at?
They used to communicate heavily on it, but then they dropped it, I think when it went under 1: they did not want to give the impression that it was time to lift restrictions on that basis alone.

In the UK it is just under 1 but too close to 1 for comfort. But it gives the gvt an excuse to lift measures prematurely. Wait till your man relapses...

I'm immune compromised so I'm trying my best - if I do need to leave the house, I do as much as I can at a quieter time of day. Things have become quite relaxed in my immediate area, which is only human in many ways as it's been some time. I'm wary of a resurgence of infection and the lack of clarity from employer and associated services. So I'm just following the phase approach a number behind

Social distancing is mostly a voluntary thing: it cannot be enforced on large crowds.
These people take their own risks, for reasons they think are worth it. Just like a number of large weddings or funeral in the past few weeks ago: they did what they could to call them off in advance, but once they fail prevention, then the communities who decide to ignore advice will pay the price by getting more infections in their midsts.

The most vulnerable in society stay away from them anyway, so the odds that these protesters will be the source of a second wave outside of themselves is slim to none.

It does not make them less selfish or irresponsible, but the GardaĆ are right to be reasoned in their approach: they might still prosecute the organizers...

Not at all, the same people then walk around and spread it like "I can't believe it's not Covid", you talk about it like it stays within a demographic but it doesn't, it spreads within a community so what they are doing is wrong simple as.
