Have you ever been catfished?
(Someone online pretends to be someone else, and trick you into an online relationship based on that deception)

Someone tried 19 years ago, but I saw through it and strung them along. They did not show up when I finally got to arrange to meet, and they never contacted me again. They tried to con me but they ended up loosing €200 of their money!

I used reverse psychology.
Their scam was to send me money but needing me to send some first to confirm my identity.
I played dum and turned the table around, convincing her to send something first... it took a while...

No never, there's nothing anyone could have (or pretend to have) that I would want enough for them to be able to lead me on.

Is that a challenge?

Well you couldn't succeed hon because as everyone knows you are me so you'd only be deceiving yourself

I was nearly caught once on the phone by a guy claiming to be from Microsoft. He said my PC was working slowly - which it was - and he could help me fix it. Fortunately there was a knock the door and I had to break off the conversation. By the time I got back I had copped myself on.

No not catfished really. I did meet someone who was clearly using an old photo of themselves though, but he was still who he said he was, just a decade or so older

Someone who tried to catfish me 20 years ago seem to have made a comeback.
They still seem unaware that I know what they’re at!

One tried today, they are masquerading as a "lesbian" on here and sent a pic to me saying "this is me, hope you send some pics soon" so I did a quick image search on it (because I'm a bitch like that) and it turns out it was a pic of a porn star, they actually have other pics of her on their profile, funny shit

Is catfishing only when they use a false identity?
or is it also catfishing of it is the person, but they lied about being single?

No, Catfishing is mostly using someone else's photos and passing them off as your own, usually for some kind of financial gain. Like an example would be a 35 year old guy convincing another 35 year old guy that he is an 18 year old girl and giving a sob story so that the victim starts sending things like money or plane tickets

In that case no.
I've only been "old fashioned" lied to / heartbroken.
