This is a half sexual topic half a thinking topic.
I've been writing abstract fantasy pornography for quite a while, and I must say the communities surroundings that branch of expression and literature, has opened my eyes a lot
to things in the human condition I never would believe if you told me, rather then witnessing them myself.
First off, fetishes seems to work a lot like phobias do, and in another way, like humour does.
Some people just have things that utterly "crack them up" there are funny things and there are thing that, one of 5, or 50, or 500 people will find especially hilariously funny.
Likewise phobias. There are commonly known about phobias i.e., claustrophobia, arachnophobia, trypophobia, that are shared in general by most humans, with varying degree of severity.
Fetishes are similar. There are certain things that make people irrationally horny; being stepped on with bare feet, wearing certain textiles, roleplaying as character's of certain relationships (i.e., policeman & citizen, father & son, Boss & office worker)
If you think of 'well made' art or drama or theater, these three "human reactions" subvert the expectation of what makes a piece of work (film, play, story etc) "good".
Comedy excuses disbelief in the integrity of a perceived situation with the pass "but it's funny though" likewise horror with "but it's scary through" and equally Pornography with "but it makes me horny".
Do you know your fetishes?
If you met a new partner and you were simply asked "so, what are your fetishes? maybe we have some in common" would you be able to list them as quickly as you could your strongest phobias?
sorry but I lost interest after the first line.
