Who To Shame, Who Not To Shame? Naming, Shaming And Doxing

# 1 : Wednesday 22-7-2020 @ 18:11

We have moved from a culture where peer pressure and shaming was the norm, to a culture where worrying about someone's morbid obesity is reframed as "fat shaming", and where the gvt insists we were masks but is also careful to recommend "Do not criticise or judge people who are not able to wear a face covering", as they know that goodie-two-shoes are always ready to scold those who do not appear to be part of their "protected few".

If you think about it, there was a trend last year to name and shame people using reserved parking space without a "disabled" parking disk, or who used one when they looked all fit. But who is to tell who is disabled? Not all disabilities are visible, therefore challenging someone's use of these parking disks by demanding that they make their disability visible is counter productive.

So where do you stand on naming, shaming and doxing?
Are you worried that it is too easy to avoid scrutiny by abusing the protection offered to those who genuinely need it?
Are is it worth to let a few people take advantage as long as we protect those in need of protection?

It's the same people all the time that abuse the system. They do it because they can get away with it and there's no consequences to their selfish actions.

But how do you shame them without shaming the wrong people too?
Those who are skilled at abusing the system are less likely to be "detected" than those who may look like they are because of our own ignorance of their circumstances...

I do have concerns about the posting of Videos & general shaming of so called 'Karens'. The vast majority of these Women have severe mental health issues & i'm not sure lambasting them on social media is the right thing to do..

The sad truth is that 9 times out of 10 they like being lambasted because they feel it proves their point. The problem isn't usually with the point they are trying to make it is to do with how they go about it because most of the time they are worse trolls than the people they claim are trolling them. They start off by poking a hornets nest but by the end usually they are beating it around with a baseball bat. Personally I have no time for them because in my experience they are usually not happy with drawing attention to an issues and letting people discuss it, they want more than that. They want notoriety.

They start off as aggressors and don't feel happy unless they have caused all out war so "severe mental health issues" isn't a valid diagnosis for the simple reason that it is all premeditated and if they have enough mental faculties to plan something they know will cause a shit storm then they have enough mental faculties to know what the consequences of that shit storm will be, you don't stick your finger into a hornets nest and assume it's only going to come out covered in honey

Who are the Karens?
The ones shaming/doxing, or the ones being shamed/doxed?
