So I know we have a Covid thread but that's just mostly to rant about Covid but the current situation is a different thing really. There is talk about doing a "Circuit breaker" lockdown for 3 weeks but, as Blah has pointed out many times and I agree, 3 weeks would be the starting point of when you'd see the effects, if you ended it there then things would just escalate again. For real changes to occur I think it would have to be at least 6 weeks. Also I know businesses are giving out but is it just me or does anyone else think certain businesses, especially hospitality (pubs, restaurants etc), are just making the situation worse?

So yeah, is it time for level 5 now or should we just be faking it with all these levels 3's and 4's knowing full well that it now making a difference and is only putting off the inevitable?

I doubt you will, the first LD was a first time for everyone and we know more now about the whole set up.

The queuing doesn't bother me that much as long as people respect the rules and keep a safe distance from the people around them (preferably a mile) and wear masks. What pisses me off more is getting into the shop and then people are walking around without masks and coming up so close that they are practically on top of you. Like most people are ok but there are just a few out there that seem to have no sense at all

The bus driver stopped the bus the other night and had to tell a passenger to put on his mask. The passenger reluctantly put it on. I actually thought something was gonna kick off, he was that agressive.

They can lockdown all they want. This thing just ain't going away any time soon. As soon as you try to open again it will return. I agree we should be locked down to prevent the Hospital system from crumbling but, if they are not going to close the airports/ports/Northern Ireland border to all but essential travel then we are just going to yo-yo endlessly until a vaccine is found.

It returns, because the population is not doing what's needed.

Saw an elderly couple in Lidl(80's), last week and no masks or distancing going on there.

I hope they can make Level 3 work somehow. This virus isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

It won't though, level 3 is pretty much a suggestion that most people ignore, you can't stop it if people are still allowed socialise in pubs and restaurants, it is just not viable to say if we allow people get pissed in groups then it won't get passed on

Pubs and restaurants are takeaway / outdoors service only now - won't be so crowded.
