I've started to become extremely bored with lockdown and just from talking to my friends who are queer it really depresses me how much people are going through stuff so I thought it might be a good idea to do volunteering saves me from boredom, get to meet new people and hopefully help a few so I'm pretty set on doing something so I was just wondering is their anybody involved in places to ask their experience with doing it or what services are still active with covid

Not sure if boredom is the most sustainable source of motivation.

Boredom may be an indication that you have too much time in your hands.
It is not a sustainable driver to remain motivated doing something with that time.

Before being a very boring poster on Gáire, I was a very bored child. Not because there was nothing to do.

Volunteering involves a lot of tedious, ungrateful tasks. It is not the ever so exciting and without-delay gratifying upbeat experience that american sitcom funky montages may lead you to believe.

Boredom is not caused by "too much time". It is caused by how you handle that time, and how you feel rewarded by activities.

Volunteering to fill your time might work for a while, to keep you busy with something new. Just like doing your garden, your cleaning, or starting to exercise.
But if you are not willing to embrace the inevitable dead-time that comes with being of service to others... your motivation will be short-lived.

Boredom can be a source of initial motivation: it is not sustainable.

Joanna volunteering maybe the answer for you why not try it be positive in your approach, if it does not work for you just give it up but see how you get on with first

Nothing ventured nothing gained!
