If Ireland had 10 million doses, they'd screw it up somehow.

Shocking organisation in all honesty .
My youngest brother was able to get his first vaccine two weeks ago he came under the 50-59 age group.
All compromised people regardless of age are being vaccinated at their local surgeries and health centres ( my option ) there is a fear of a shortage in late April .
(This makes sense given we're more likely to need hospital care if we do contract covid ) .
However by that stage if the programme stays on course everyone bar the very young will at least have had their first .
The SSE arena has the capacity to vaccinate 400k and they are flying through their programme .

Absolutly.
My dad is 72, Auto immune issues, started cancer treatment during the first lockdown and no sign of him getting vaccinated.

Good news: more do doses on the way for over 70's.
And one-shot vaccines will arrive mid-April.

Vaccination programme here is now standing at a total of 800k .
That's roughly about 45% of our population .

I see the UK has offered Ireland a whopping 1.3 million doses of the vaccine to help speed up your programme.

800k isn't 45% of our population (unless you think that the population of Ireland is 1.8 million people which it probably was in the 80's or 90's), 800k vaccinated (assuming you mean both doses) would only be about 14% of our population

My comments are in reference to the vaccination programme here in the North.

HSE predicts that Ireland will reach the milestone of one million vaccine doses administered some time next week.

April 01 was at 893,375 total doses. (Not people...)
So the million milestone is realistic, is it not?

1680 maybe. Then people got jiggy with it and by the time of the famine it was about 9 million. The 1980/90s it was about 3.5 million after johnnys travelled south of the border.

1st or 2nd dose, even they are twisting the truth and the number should be of those fully vaccinated.

They are not twisting the truth: that number is the number of doses, as indicated in my follow-up post.
There is a different number for people vaccinated, obviously.
Obviously lower.
When that other number reaches a milestone, they'll communicate on that.

The fact that you feel they should communicate on something else does not make you "tricked". You are not the judge of all things true and good.

They never said "1 million people vaccinated".
It may not be the milestone you want to hear about: ignore it then, don't blame them because you feel tricked because you rely on headlines to much...

On the site I referenced above they breakdown first and second dose, and further breakdown by cohorts/groups.
They even include 333 "not coded" which might mean people outside of the cohorts who received left overs or exemptions, etc. Or mistakes in data entry...
