Du.. just because you're one hell of a miserable specimen, doesnt mean that you have to make EVERYONE else around u miserable. Why don't you just bite your tongue for once
Heavens to Betsy - I think you oughta loosen up Miss 'Licious! God love him, he's only having a bit of blackguarding. And a dig, presumably, at the protracted and meandering litany of 'wish you wells' and 'welcome backs' for this gentleman, many of which tend to strike a false note (because - despite the gushing - how many of the respondents really give a continental damn about the guy? How many of them have cast him a second thought throughout his absence? How many are for want of something better to do really, just jumping on the bandwagon?) Not all, for sure. But quite a few, I daresay. I have to admit I'm not a fan of these sicklysweet threads either, these John-and-Yoko-style love ins. Does a thread originally dating from the 10th of December 2005 really deserve 93 posts whilst other, more pressing topics are languishing in the margins? I suspect a lot of posters are simply taking a break from their number crunching jobs to contribute to this thing. Hence the need to poke fun at and dismantle what's going on. So you can unravel your twisted knickers my dear - I don't think what was said by DU was meant to be a malicious attack or a character assassination, by any means. Manwe's coming back. Good for him. I wish him the best of British luck. It doesn't mean the prerogative of free speech should collapse, forthwith. There's a bigger issue here, I'm afraid.
What is it with this board sometimes? Can one not launch a broadside or pen a skit in peace without some moral watchdog swooping down like a Valkyrie in heat. I'll keep my dark tinted glasses and you can keep your rose tinted ones, thank you very much. Not all of us can exude simpering bonhomie and joie-de-vivre 24/7 - and those who do, certainly shouldn't use it as a weapon against those who don't.
