I did the same. My alarm didn't go off and i was half an hour late. Anyho, it's so depressing walking to work when the streets are empty, knowing that everyone else in the country is still curled up under theit duvet

I think once my dog arrives in Dublin, it'll help me a lot.

Molly is a one and half year old Bernese Mountain Dog. If someone can tell me how to post pics, I'll post one of her...

She'll be arriving in Dublin sometime between 20-25 January...I can't wait! All bias aside, she is an awesome dog...

I wish there were some dog friendly pubs in Dublin. Back in Venice Beach, there was a bar that allowed dogs so Molly and I would stop in for pints...the entire staff loved Molly...occasionally I'd let her have a tiny bit of beer.

maybe that's why you're having trouble sleeping. You're worried about molly.

I miss our dogs. My dad and stepmom have
1 x great dane
1 x dalmation
1 x staffie
1 x poodle
4 x jack russels

and they had a labrador that unfortunately died this year.

Tis a pity about the pubs, yeah...

Wow! That's a whole pack of dogs! I'm guessing your parents live on a large piece of property...

@ Dedalus71

Cute dog!!!

I think some pubs (probably the more old-fashioned ones out of the city centre) will still let dogs in, although they probably won't if they do food. One of my locals at home in Louth actually has a huge fat labrador in residence, except that if anyone else tries to bring in a dog the lab goes mental he doesn't get enough exercise... I worry about that dog

There was a horror story a few weeks back where a well-known pub in Blackrock actually threw out a blind nun with a guide dog. She was awarded compensation for discrimation

Anyway, on the subject of the thread (plus dogs), I have been taking the next-door's Irish Setter out for walks over the holidays - these would be 3 hour jobs, about 12 miles, and the ****er isn't even remotely tired when we get back. It's one great way of getting me off to sleep, which otherwise I find a problem, going over things during the day etc. Will be taking him out again later this evening and tomorrow. Should keep me sorted sleep-wise.
