Never, My parents were never really good at the whole having kids thing and caught my brother robbing a 10p pack of elastics out of the pound shop in Northside shopping centre when we were like 11 and 12 so my mother brought him home and (you remember those gas cookers where the toaster/grill was on the top above the rings) turned the grill on and held his hands under it until they bubbled, I was made watch as a lesson to what would happen if I was caught robbing. I still remember how it smelt, You know that picture Misery, Annie Wilkes was an angle compared to my parents

Never ever.

My parents have a lot of defects but they knew how to punish us in a way that we would not even think about doing it stealing.

Stealing is such a rape of someone's property, and a lack of respect for society in general.

Unless you are starving, and even then it can be discussed, there is no justification for stealing, and if you steal you have to repay it sometimes. Saying sorry is not enough: you have to find who you stole from, repay them with interest or all your life you will be a thief.
